doesnt Do You
Boring, from beginning to end. There’s no talent, no ideas, nothing new or improving, not a song to remember as a loop for your mind in salad days. Just the same old lame drum marches and war related ambient pieces that has been the core of Arditi work for so long, all what sounded Ok in the first album and started to get obnoxious in the second now sounds repetitive and predictable, never impressing or simply annoying. Think about a drum set looping, now think about some brass/trumpet line looping too for the average time of 3.40 minutes and then an occasional undertone to the whole plot, well that’s the resume you can get for the nine songs that constitute “Standards of triumph”. And what about the lyricism? Well not much development on this area too, Aside from the fact that there is not much lyrics in there. We can find the same typical black metal type rhetoric, the same pseudo nihilist bullshit. This time Arditi’s campaign is a call for a never ending war in which (according with them, all humankind will participate for the joy of “our inner will for war and love for hate”, although they have no idea or any remote experience on what a war is) Though among the mediocrity something called my attention and it’s the phrase: “comfort is the most dangerous enemy we face today, it lingers and renders you incapable of any action worthwhile” from the song “Ploughshares into swords”. This is actually true! This work is the best probe about this! Nothing is worthwhile about this album except for this phrase so that means comfort has completely lost Arditi, they can’t be any more lazy in terms of composition and ideas. All their ineptitude and lack of talent they try to hide it beneath their wall of boring martial industrial plus the dosage of ideological black metal wankery. Nice digipack and design, not worth the music it does contain. If the genre of martial industrial as whole is now wasted and cliché, I propose that Arditi should become the epitaph for its cenotaph. No more comfort paid with my money for mr Moller and mr Bjorkman from now on!
At some point in the past i really liked the marches implied into this kind of music. Maybe it was my sillyness, maybe unconscious right winged fantasies, maybe plain ignorance. After a while things started to change and i noticed theres nothing inside this music, i mean literally it is empty, pretty nihilistic and nonsensical, too infatuated and infertile... at that point i realized i didnt like it anymore. And i found my taste silly. In any case its always interesting to ask why some people may like this mediocre stuff. Because aside from the obvious ideological implications it has always played with theres nothing really. No value as you say.
lol, but what's the point of listening to this kind of crap in the first place anyway? you tend to imply that the "genre" itself has a kind of intrinsec value. really, it hasn't…
