Ecstatic' is a monster of a tune I first heard it on the free JMJ mix cd that came with the triple box set 'This is Jungle' in the late 90's. Every other tune was available unmixed on the set apart from this one, and with no tracklisting it took me years to find this little beauty. I'm sure there are people who bought that box set who, to this day are still losing sleep wondering if they'll ever find that tune. Quite why Sub Sequence remain largely unknown in Drum and Bass circles is beyond me. Their Tooz Up label released some very good tunes and yet I can only really remember Dr S Gachet supporting them, with a couple of their later releases being on his Audiomaze label check out 'The Kicker'. I have to say I had exactly the same experience as Swagger with the 'This is Jungle' box set. Very annoying as its easy one of the best tracks of the mix. Spectacular music they don't make them like this anymore. Essential Jungle 5/5! XD

'Ecstatic' is a monster of a tune! I first heard it on the free JMJ mix cd that came with the triple box set 'This is Jungle' in the late 90's. Every other tune was available unmixed on the set apart from this one, and with no tracklisting it took me years to find this little beauty. I'm sure there are people who bought that box set who, to this day are still losing sleep wondering if they'll ever find that tune. Featuring a prominant vocal sample, "You make me feel real good babe", as well as the "Time to let go" sample used by Ray Keith in 'Sing Time', 'Ecstatic' is a musical journey that perfectly marries the rough with the smooth. Quite why Sub Sequence remain largely unknown in Drum and Bass circles is beyond me. Their Tooz Up label released some very good tunes and yet I can only really remember Dr S Gachet supporting them, with a couple of their later releases being on his Audiomaze label (check out 'The Kicker'!). Anyway, they made the A side of this, 'Everyday', which is a pretty good tune as well, although for me it pales in comparison to Intense's offering.

Many thanks for the info.

Hello, would like to add to your very interesting review on Intense's tune that looped melody of 17 notes, like a chime, from 00:47 to 01:32 and again from 05:41 to 07:15 is sampled from album "The songs of distant earth" by Mike Oldfield released in 1994, precisely from the song "Tubular world" :)I advise to have some listening if u are curious, far to be a bad album, even perhaps the only true gem that "new age" (u know, dolphins, whales & that kind of stuff ;) brought to music. Me always caught by tracks "Oceania" & "Only time will tell" specially, leading me sometimes to strange wisdom & curious thoughts like "those tracks seem to teach more about life than life itself", not a small paradox, is it ? Well, about Intense's track, i can't get the words concerning part from 02:45 to the end of the break, o the strings !!! Omg ! And the lucid "Time to let go" dropped at the right place ... They really felt the thing that had to be meant ... I wouldn't have waited less from Intense ;)Kind regards.
