Little did he know that a murder was planned and that a person on this train was capable of committing such crime. The Orient Express. Rock 1969. Fruit Of The Desert. Orient Express was a professional wrestling tag team in the World Wrestling Federation in the early 1990s composed of Pat Tanaka and Akio Sato, who was later replaced by Kato. In early 1990, manager Mr. Fuji split up the team known as The Powers of Pain The Warlord and The Barbarian as he sold their individual contracts to Slick who got the former and Bobby Heenan who received the latter, respectively. Fuji then brought in The Orient Express Sato & Tanaka as his latest threat to the WWF tag. The sole production by the Orient Express, this eponymous album, released in 1969 by Mainstream Records, features largely instrumental tracks, with five tracks possessing vocals. An experiment in exploring psychedelia, raga rock, and an eastern folk fusion inspired sound, the album features heavily Iranian traditional drummer Farshid Golesorkhis Dumbek and Tympani drum rhythms. Belgian Bruno Giet provides guitar and Frenchman Guy Duris the Oud and Sitar. On the Vocal tracks Giet leads with Golesorkhi and Duris providing backing. The Orient Express Q&A. The Orient Express' sole LP from 1969 stands today as an early experiment in world fusion - and a pretty successful one at that, at least artistically. Guitarist Guy Duris is a Frenchman who became enamored with the oud, a classical Arabian guitar. Belgian Bruno Giet is a bass player with a rock background. Iranian Farshid Golesorkhi is an award-winning percussionist in the Persian tradition. As a trio, they only left 35 minutes for posterity, but these minutes are filled with interesting ideas and kitschy songs, all originals. The Orient Express was a long-distance passenger train service created in 1883 by Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits CIWL. The route and rolling stock of the Orient Express changed many times. Several routes in the past concurrently used the Orient Express name, or slight variations. Although the original Orient Express was simply a normal international railway service, the name became synonymous with intrigue and luxury travel.
